HISTORYThis catholic school is on the corner of Marine Parade and Coolstores Road in Hastings. The school was built in 1917 but did not open until May 1919. DESCRIPTIONThis image shows school children standing and sitting in four rows posing for a photo. There are nine boys standing in the back row, ten girls standing in the second back row, ten girls and boys sitting on a wooden stool and ten boys sitting cross-legged on the ground. A brick wall and two verandah posts are behind the group. A boy in the front row is holding a small blackboard which reads: “Immaculate Conception Hastings 1931”.
