HISTORYThis store was owned by Arthur Thomas Denham. It was a general store that sold just about everything. He was the local undertaker as well so customers could choose a coffin from those on display in his shop. The store, which was on the corner of High and King Streets, Hastingts, was sold to Jack and Norma Babington in 1958. The following is printed on the back of the mounting board in large black letters: “Denhams Store (cnr King & High St Hastings) sold Hardware & coffins later purchased by Jack & Norma Babington”. The original photograph was lent to the museum by Val Barber, 19 Herbert Street, Mornington, Vicx. 3931 Phone 59 755 372.
