HISTORY

This fishing boat is the “Jean Bryant”. It was the largest locally owned fishing boat to work out of Hastings. It was built by Fred Bryant to the design of his brother Carl, with a length of 57 feet and beam of 17’6. This photograph comes from the Fred Bryant Collection.

DESCRIPTION

This image shows a side-on view of a fishing boat with a cabin. Several people can be seen on board the boat. Boxes are stored on the deck and rubber tyres hang along the side. Land can be seen in the far distance.
