HISTORY

This train is “Whistling Willie” at the Hastings Railway Station. The man on the left is the President of the Mornington Railway Preservation Society Inc., Mr Greg Dunkley. The crowd is gathered for a steam train ride to Stony Point. The man addressing the people is Cr. Peter Dietzsch the President of the “Shire of Hastings.

DESCRIPTION

These two images show a steam engine with a passenger carriage and two men standing on a railway platform. Men, women and children are beside the train tracks and climbing onto the engine. Trees and motor vehicles can be seen on the far left-hand side.
