HISTORY

The first two motor tugs, Murray Porter and Henry Bolte, operated by the Ports and Harbours Dept. in Western Port, were built at the State Dockyard in Newcastle, N.S.W. and came to their operational base at Stony Point in 1965. They were taken out of service in 1982 and replaced with new and more powerful company owned tugs. Henry Bolte was the Premier of Victoria at the time and Murray Porter was the Minister for Public Works. The files originally came from Mr Bob Leek of Williamstown and were given to Arthur Woodley because of the Western Port connection
