HISTORYThis woman is Norma Barrett. She married Jack Babington in 1947. Together they opened the first self-service hardware and grocery store on the Western Port. The following is written in blue ink on the back of the photograph: “Norma Barrett Red Cross transport driver uniform 1940 Now Norma Babington”. “Kodak Print 32” is also stamped on the back.
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows a young woman in a uniform. Her uniform has large buttons on either side and a large collar. The top of a very large pair of gloves can be seen and her hat is shading her eyes. Shrubs and tree branches are behind her.
