HISTORYThis presentation is to Dr Arthur Robert Haywood by Tom Barclay. Dr Haywood was born in Caulfield in 1895 and went to school in Hastings. He spent his teenage years fishing and farming and doing other local work before working his way through medical school. He returned to Hastings in 1928 as a general practitioner. He was instrumental in founding the Hastings District Bush Nursing Hospital which was officially opened in 1930. He also farmed cattle, sheep and pigs as well as representing the West Ward of the Shire of Frankston and Hastings from 1946 to 1949. He died in 1981. Tom Barclay was President of the Hastings Football Club and a member of the Hastings Hall Committee for many years.

Everyone is very well dressed.
