HISTORY

The following is written in blue ink on the back of the photograph: “out for a picnic at Patonga Beach”. The photograph comes from the Mary Oliver Collection.

DESCRIPTION

This image shows a family of four women and a small child enjoying a picnic at the beach. The women are sitting on a picnic blanket and the child is standing. They are all drinking from clear glass cups. The child is dressed in overalls and the women are wearing either cardigans or coats. Sand and rock can be seen on the right-hand side and tall grass on the left.
