HISTORYThis man is George Melville. He is standing in front of his first store in Crib Point. The photo was taken about 1934. This store had previously served as a second post office in Crib Point. After George left, the little shop was taken over by a greengrocer. The baby was most probably George’s son. George married Elsie May (Maisie) Woolley, the daughter of William Thomas Woolley and Jane Elizabeth Hobden.
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows a man standing outside a timber building, holding a baby. He has a big smile on his face and is looking at the camera. He is wearing a suit, white shirt, tie and a hat. The baby is dressed all in white. The building behind has a panelled door and windows on the right-hand side. A sign above the window reads: “ECKS”.
