HISTORYThis is the Hastings Cool Store situated in Cool Store Road, Hastings not far from the railway line. This building has now been demolished. Hastings, together with Tyabb and Somerville were thriving fruit growing areas.
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows a large building with three small triangular pediments across the iron roof. Several doors and windows are across the front of the building. A tall tower is on the far right-hand side. “Hastings Cool Stores” is in large letters across the front of the building underneath the windows. A post and rail fence is in front of the building and a gravel road is in the foreground. A tall electricity pole and part of another building can be seen on the far right-hand side.
