HISTORY

This is the jetty at Hastings on the Western Port and the building at the end of the jetty is the Hastings fishing shed. The jetty was built in 1864 and the fishing shed in 1866. They have both played an important role in the fishing industry of Hastings.

DESCRIPTION

This image shows a line of fishing boats tied up beside a long jetty. Buildings can be seen on the foreshore and several more boats are along the shoreline. Fishing nets are handing over the jetty rails. Water is in the foreground.
