HISTORY

This is the jetty and fishing shed at Hastings on the Western Port. The jetty was built in 1864 and the fishing shed was built in 1866. The jetty and shed played an important part in the Hastings fishing industry.

DESCRIPTION

This image shows a small shed with a jetty stretching out into the water. There are fishing nets hanging over the jetty rails and the masts of several fishing boats can be seen beside the jetty. A crane is at the end of the jetty. Low ground cover is in the foreground and land can be seen in the far background.
