HISTORY

This is the jetty and fishing shed at Hastings on the Western Port. The jetty was built in 1864 and the fishing shed was built in 1866. The jetty and shed played an important part in the Hastings fishing industry.

DESCRIPTION

This image shows a small shed with a jetty stretching out into the water. Fishing nets are hung over the rails of the jetty. Another small shed can be seen behind a horse and wagon on the left-hand side of the image. Sand is in the foreground.
