HISTORY

Moondah and the castellated gatehouse were built for James Grice in 1888. Nearby the mansion Manyung (now Norman Lodge) had been erected in the 1860’s by Richard Grice and this name was used by the aviator and business entrepreneur Reg (later Sir Reginald Ansett) when he ran Moondah as the Hotel Manyung from 1947. The Administrative Staff College purchased the house in 1957.

DESCRIPTION

The gatehouse has a two storey central section over the arched gateway with side wings an oriel, stair, turret, depressed arches, square pinnacle and Gothic patterns decorate the structure
