HISTORY

Opened as the Oriental Bank branch c1875, situated in opposite building. Later the Colonial Bank, moving to
the present location in 1890. Then the Commercial Bank of Australia Ltd, merging with the National Bank in
1918.

DESCRIPTION

A front view of the National Bank, Main Street, Mornington, during re-painting in 1995 the old signage containing the words "The Commercial Bank of Australia Ltd." can be seen during the painting process this
bank is now called ‘The Bank Restaurant’
