HISTORY

In 1851 he promoted with others, the construction of a pier at Mornington. Believing there should be a Church of England Minister at Schnapper Point he became treasurer for the fund to build St Peters. When the church was officially opened on 19 May 1861 he was its first warden. Alexander and Emma are commemorated in a church window depicting ‘The Light of the World’. By 1862 he was a Justice of the Peace and Chairman of the Local Bench of Magistrates. He was a tireless worker for the community.
