In 1892 fifteen members of the Mornington Football Team drowned whilst returning from a match at Mordialloc, of the 1600 pounds raised 75 pounds went into erecting this memorial

Front view of the white marble memorial dedicated to the Football Disaster of 1892 the memorial is situated on the corner of Main Street and the Snapper Point Drive, Mornington this image was taken before the restoration of the memorial the height of the column is as it was when originally erected
