HISTORY

The first Mornington Post Office was opened in 1861 and this building was erected in 1863-64, coinciding with the provision of electric telegraph services in the town, the Post Office moved in the 1960’s further up the Main Street and the Mornington Historical Society became interested in this building to prevent demolition and to establish a Museum
