In 1888 Morven was commissioned to be built by Archibald Cook for his son, William Syme Cook, who married Ella Louise Allchin of Sutton Grange, Mornington

The house has Queen Anne revival attributes, single-storeyed and verandahed, built from coloured brickwork, with a hipped and slated roof - established garden in foreground
