James Firth born 1829 Orkney Is., settled in Parish of Moorooduc 1850's, married Ellen Benton, died 1912 Somerville
His brothers had also joined him in Australia and besides working on their properties the brothers cut fire-wood to be transported to Melbourne, did road construction and had a saw-pit for cutting out planks from logs for piers and buildings
