HISTORY

Photo probably taken c.1917. An Ostrich farm was started at Cape Schanck specifically to provide feathers for the Light Horse Slouch hats. The ostriches were brought by train to Mornington, then walked down to Cape Schanck. It was thought that the venture was not successful.
