HISTORY

The commemoration plaque in front of the building notes that the vicarage was built in 1869 and was a gift from the Balcombe family of the Briars.

It is likely that Leonard Terry designed this building for the new vicar and that William Glover built the vicarage and that the bricks were the same glowing red, hand moulded type still seen in the church

DESCRIPTION

The house is stuccoed and has many gabled room bays, with the first section presumably being the L-shape plan around the entrance door
