HISTORYDespite the additions to the church, St. Andrews is locally significant for its evocation of the early growth of Mornington’s infrastructure and remains a symbol of the attainment of a permanent town status
It holds associations for many former and current residents, and also embodies the local craftsmanship of Allchin’s brickworks and the contractor, Grover
The first gatherings of the Presbyterian community in Schnapper Point appear to have been held in a small building at the rear of Tetley’s Store at the corner of Main and Barkly Streets
The site of the church building in Barkly Street was donated in the early 1860’s by Mr J. Barrett
Three prominent Presbyterian citizens were appointed as trustees, namely Dr Alexander Morrison (Craigie Lee),
Mr J. Butchart (Beleura) and Mr J. Connell
