HISTORYThis house was situated at 750 Esplanade. It was originally known as “Clifden” then later as “Garrycloyne”. The first part of the house was built in the 1869 by Dr Michael Barry. He named it Clifden after his birth place in Ireland. In 1901 it was renamed as “Garrycloyne” by Dr J. Macgregor. It was subsequently owned by two artists.
DESCRIPTIONSolid brick painted Victorian house with verandah across the front of the building and alongside the left side of the building. There are three french windows across the front of the building. There is a slate roof with a Canary Island palm in the front garden. There is a white painted picket fence with green posts.
