HISTORY

George Taylor arrived when he was 4 years old on the “Westminster” in 1842. He married Mary Anne Kenny in 1860 at the age of 22. They made their home into a private guest house and called it “Grandview”. They kept cows and poultry, and they had 11 children. George opened the first store in Vancouver Street. George died in 1922 age 84. Mary lived until she was 92.
