HISTORYIn the 1860’s Hastings was the centre of the fishing industry, but the Hutchins and Garlicks were well known fishing families in Schnapper Point. The schnapper were plentiful off Mornington, most fish passing through the township before the railway probably came on the “fish track” from Hastings for consignment to Melbourne.
DESCRIPTIONThis shows a yacht in full sail, with seven men on board on the Bay. There is land in the background.
