HISTORYJames Smith Adams born 1838 son of Dr. James Smith Adams who had married Annie Hopkins. James was a butcher by trade and owned his own slaughter yard. He was involved in the community, and was a councillor with the Shire of Mornington. He died of a fractured skull after an accident in Cranbourne in 1895.
DESCRIPTIONThis shows a beautiful two storey stone and brick building. There is an ornate balcony to the upper floor. There is a large sign on the side of the building “J.S. Adams, Butcher”. There is a pitched roof with 3 chimneys visible. There are 3 men standing in the foreground, and a horse and cart with driver to the right of the picture.
