HISTORY

The architecture of the shops appears to be 1920’s.

DESCRIPTION

This is a street scene, showing several shops on the Esplanade. There is a Milk Bar, Butcher, Estate Agent and Green grocers. In the centre of the photo is a public telephone box. There are several cars both outside the shops, and parked on the beach side of the photo. One woman can be seen carrying her shopping. This is a Rose Series P.13519 postcard.
