HISTORY

The house was situated in Tubba Rubba and belonged to Alfred Downer who lived there for a time from 1871. After his marriage in 1879, he and his wife moved to “Redwood” in Wilson’s Road, Mornington. The house was demolished in 1950 and a new house built in its place.

DESCRIPTION

Rudimentary wattle and daub house with corrugated iron roof and 2 multi - paned windows either side of a central door. There is a man in work clothes standing beside a white cockatoo on the left and some clothes hanging on a line under the verandah on the right.
