HISTORYFoxey’s Hangout came into being in the late 1930s as a competition between Jack Johnson and Lou Connell for the greatest number of foxes caught per day. Each man was to hang his foxes on the limb of an old tree. Garry Downward kept daily count and tallied the annual numbers.
DESCRIPTIONView of paddocks through a group of trees. The prominent tree in the foreground has 2 signs on the trunk. One is a Shire of Flinders Notice and the other is illegible. From a long branch to the right hang 7 dead foxes in a line.
