HISTORYBy 1973, the original contenders of the fox-trapping competition were deceased and the branches of the tree from which the foxes were suspended had died and been lopped. Presumably some local people constructed the ring from which foxes are hanging in this photo. The fate of the tree is shown in the exhibits 1266.1 and 1266.3.
DESCRIPTIONLarge tree on a road verge. The tree shows some die back on the right side including lopped dead limbs. The lower trunk supports a large metal ring surrounding it and about a dozen fox carcasses are hanging from it. In the background at left are paddocks in which there are trees on the left and beside them a long, low shed. The paddock on the right of the tree contains a large sign supported by poles near a boundary fence.
