HISTORYFoxey’s Hangout came into being in the late 1930s as a competition between Jack Johnson and Lou Connell for the greatest number of foxes caught per day. Each man was to hang his foxes on the limb of an old tree. Garry Downward kept daily count and tallied the annual numbers.
DESCRIPTIONTree trunk with attached signs, illegible at this distance. About eight dead foxes hang from a branch on the right and a young man in a hat is squatting on his haunches in front of the tree.
