HISTORYAlfred Downer lived in the house Redwood in Wilsons Road Mornington for the duration of his married life. This photograph was taken with his sister Emma and four daughters, Elsie, Ivy, Eliza and Ethel. Alfred’s main interests in life were his family, farming and local government.
DESCRIPTIONA family group of people pictured in a garden near the corner of a verandah. An elderly man is seated between an older and a younger woman with three young women standing at the rear. The verandah has an iron lace frieze and the figures are in front of some shrubs in a neat garden which is bordered by a hedge.
