HISTORY

This is in the Downward Collection of photographs and taken in 1924 during Herbert Downward’s time as a committee member and secretary of the Mornington Race Club.

DESCRIPTION

Photograph of a primitive race track, defined by a white post and single rail fence with a race in progress. A group of about 5 or 6 horses with jockeys on board is running from right to left. Two officials are standing in the background. On the left is a metal gate with four rails held open on top of a white, metre high post. Across a paddock there is a long line of trees in the distance.
