HISTORYTrooper Richard George Edwards purchased Darriman,11 - 13 Queen Street, Mornington, in 1923 for his wife and daughter Eileen, who had married Herbert Downward in 1916. The house cost 2,000 pounds, provided in part by the winnings of ‘Darriman’, a racehorse owned by George Edwards. On the death of Mrs Edwards it became Eileen’s house and she and her husband used it as their town house whereas the Balnarring farm ‘Maxwelton’ was their rural home.
