HISTORY

The buildings which constituted Frean & Ride’s timber business in Barkly Street Mornington were demolished early in the 2000s. It had operated since George Frean established it in the 1920s and it was an iconic Mornington business.

DESCRIPTION

A scene with a view across Barkly Street Mornington to cleared, vacant land covered in dry grass. to the left is a collection of commercial buildings with a prominent white building labelled ‘PINE CITY’. There are two non-descript buildings to the rear of the cleared land and a row of mature trees in the background.
