HISTORYThe Fire Station was built to house the Fire Brigade which commenced operation there in 1969. It stood in Main Street near the corner with Elizabeth Street.
DESCRIPTIONFront of a single storied building in the standard style of Victorian Fire Stations of the late 1900s. The letters CFA and its logo are fixed on the decking above the central door.The building is set well back from the gutter behind a concrete apron. It has three vehicle bays behind glazed doors. A red fire truck stands in the middle bay with the door open. There is a single storied house to the left of the station. It’s walls are painted white and the pitched roof appears to be of grey corrugated iron. The front door is centrally placed off a porch which covers the right half of the facade. There is a “For Lease” sign on the small grassed front yard.
