HISTORYThe house was known as “The Railway House” and was in fact the home for the railway gate keeper. The rail service from Frankston to Mornington terminated beyond the house and there were railway gates across Barkly Street which were manually closed and opened by the gatekeeper at the approach of each train.
DESCRIPTIONA single storied house and outbuildings situated on a wide road (Barkly Street) near a corner block. The house appears to be quite old with a mottled terra cotta coloured roof. It is surrounded by several mature trees and is beside a vacant grassed block on the corner of Barkly Street and Railway Parade.
