HISTORY

The Vicarage was built in Ross Street Mornington between 1863 - 1867 for the first vicar, Rev. James Glover, of St Peter’s Anglican Church of 1861 situated in Queen Street. It was built of red brick, similar to those used for the Church, and later surfaced with white stucco. Additions were made later in the 19th Century. It is of significance to the early history of this local precinct of church, court house, post office and bank. It is cited in the Shire of Mornington Heritage Study 1994.

DESCRIPTION

A white single storied house is set in a garden of mainly lawn and shrubs. The house is partly hidden by trees but a porch can be seen on the left with at least two gabled rooms to its left. The house is of Picturesque Gothic Revival Style with white stuccoed walls and the roof is of shingles.
