HISTORYA conspicuous feature of the foreshore near the Mornington Pier is the Yacht Club building and its enclosure housing a great number of boats, ranging from ocean going yachts to small sailing dinghies. In ten years from 1946 the Yacht club grew from a small association of yourng men, who met on Shire Hall Beach to sail their assortment of craft, to an organisation which has spent more than $65000 in club building, boat ramp and storage yard.
DESCRIPTIONThis photograph shows a weather board building on the foreshore, with the Pier to the left. There are many cars parked close by. There are a number of small boats moored alongside. People are shown around the club.
