HISTORY

Tasma Court was a large guest house between Tasma Lane and Canterbury Street from the 1870’s until the 1970’s when it was demolished. The main building was brick two storeys with 13 rooms, large weather board dining room, an adjoining weather board dwelling of 11 rooms and a tennis court. It was originally known as as Canterbury House later as Holcomb House and from the late 1930’s as Tasma Court, from which the current unit complex takes its name. The Mornington museum has examples of Holcomb House crockery. Mrs P. Butler was the proprietress, and the phone number was Mornington 131.

DESCRIPTION

This is a photo of a white cloth serviette with an embroidered insignia in one corner. The insignia is T.C., for Tasma Court.
