HISTORY

William Sym Cook was the son of Archibald Cook who is buried in Mornington Cemetery. Archibald was a prominent business man and involved in the ferry business. He was married to Gib Barrett, and they lived at “Arran” on the corner of Alfred and Albert Street. He commissioned Joseph Dale Grover to build a home for his son, this was Morven Manor. in Tanti Avenue. This build cost 1606 pounds, 6 shillings. William Sym Cook married Ella Louise Allchin of Sutton Grange, and they lived at Morven Manor for 50 years.

DESCRIPTION

This is a photograph of a degree document for William Sym Cook from the University of Melbourne. He became a Batchelor of Law. The date on the bottom of the document is the 12th March, 1886.
