HISTORYDaniel Gorwood Green married Eleanor Constable in 1873. Their first son Thomas was born in 1878. Daniel was a cabinet maker apprenticed to Benjamin Constable. Eleanor and Daniel had 8 children and they moved to “Clifton Villa” in 1883 after the death of her mother. The moved in 1890 to 14 Alfred Street. Daniel also did house decorating and building. Daniel and Benjamin Constable built Clyde Villa on the Esplanade. Daniel and Benjamin Constable were elected the the Board of Management of the Presbyterian Church in 1871. Daniel died in 1904 aged 62 and was much respected in the area.
Thomas Green followed worked for his father, and married Susan Trudgen in 1908. They lived in Alfred Street in a house which was built by Daniel his father. Thomas was a member of the Football Club, and the Rifle Club. He won a medal for his shooting. He painted the Mechanics Institute at Dromana, for the some of 11pounds 5 shllings. In 1930 he carved all the street names for Mornington. He died in 1959.
