On the corner of Albert Street and Main Street stood Bill and Eileen Croagh’s delicatessen, and their daughter Elsie used to help them. This was also part of Thomas Allchin’s first store in Mornington which he ran with his wife Sarah. That store was opened in 1860 and stood firmly and solidly until demolished and replaced by the Commonwealth Bank in the 1960’s, a hundred years later. Elsie married Ron Toebelman of Moorooduc. They went applie growing on the slopes of Mount Eliza.
