HISTORY

These images from December 1967 show the alterations to a shop in Main Street. It appears to be a chemist shop.

DESCRIPTION

1. This image shows the rear of a red brick building. It has a pitched roof. There are small windows, and it looks like an industrial building. To the right of the photo is a small fibro add on, with a metal roof, and a small window. In the centre foreground is a road sign “No standing any time”. To the right of the image is a small wall built of the local rock. There is a stack of timber on the left on the footpath.
2. This shows the same building, with 3 men working on site. In the centre of the photo , one is driving a yellow digger marked International. He appears to be demolishing some steps at the rear of the shop. The other two men are on the left of the photo, one is stood watching the digger, and the other is bending over.
