HISTORY

This Bark Hut was built around 1890 at Moondah, Mount Eliza. It was demolished in about 1938.Moondah’s first owner was James Grice c1888. Sir Reg Ansett ran ‘Moondah’ as the ‘Hotel Manyung’ from 1947. The ‘Administrative Staff College’ purchased the house in 1957, the photo shows four ladies attending the A.M.P. Staff Picnic c1926

DESCRIPTION

This photo shows a wooden hut built of bark, with a pitched roof. The roof of the hut appears to be made of bark too. There is a central front door, with a window on either side. There is a verandah the whole length of the hut supported by 4 wooden posts. It looks neglected. There is long grass in the foreground, and a small tree to the left of the front door.
