HISTORYThe Mornington State School in Vale Street was built in the 1870s and opened in February 1878 as State School number 2033 with some 80 pupils. The numbers increased and the school became overcrowded by the mid 1980s. Additions were made to the original schoolroom in 1908. Vale Street, Mornington Primary School.
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows a large group of children standing in front of the school. The school is a brick building which has a pitched roof in 4 sections. It has large windows with white painted frames. The windows have small sections of glass. Several female teachers can be seen among the pupils. In the foreground in front of the children, are two males. The man on the right has long dark hair, and a moustache.
