HISTORY

Mr Ian Alexander was Head Master of Mornington State School. Mr Rod Snee was the school librarian, and Mr Ray Sims was the District Inspector of Schools. The Mornington State School in Vale Street was built in the 1870s and opened in February 1878 as State School number 2033 with some 80 pupils. The numbers increased and the school became overcrowded by the mid 1980s. Additions were made to the original schoolroom in 1908.

DESCRIPTION
