HISTORY

The insignia belonged to Sargeant George Gorsuch - grandfather of the donor - who was stationed at Point Nepean army barracks. Said to have been one of the gun crew who fired the first shots in Australia from the fort

DESCRIPTION

1. Army insignia - 11 pieces. Made from gold wire mounted on black felt with hessian backing. 2. Sargeant's stripes - gold thread on red felt. 3. Red Cross - woven thread on khaki felt.
