HISTORY

Product used by Mrs Powell of Rye in household cooking. Kept as a souvenir of wartime packaging. These bags were often used later for making children’s handkerchiefs.

DESCRIPTION

Calico bag, rectangular in shape, with opening at top of short side. “McALPINE’S SELF RAISING FLOUR” logo in red and green printing. “25 Lbs nett when packed” in red printing. “J. McAlpin & Sons, Abbotsford, Melbourne Phone JA 3126” in red rectangle at bottom.
